moving ways

a photography project investigating the intersections of
language, movement and change

rooted in the dual meaning of the Portuguese word mudanças

(Moving and Change),

this work expands from personal experience toward a broader reflection on how transformation, whether chosen or imposed, operates as a shared human condition and shapes everyone’s collective and individual narratives

Initiated through spontaneous street photographs, the series captures moving trucks on the streets of Rio de Janeiro, mostly.
until I started noticing Moving (trucks and other things) everywhere

Having relocated several times across different homes, cities, and states (of being),
I began to notice how this word, appearing on the side of trucks I encountered while

walking,

running,
cycling,
and driving,

mirrored my own sense of movement and continuity

By framing these everyday
encounters as sites of
observation and
introspection,
Ways of Moving
explores the ways
in which change as
a phenomenon connects
us across time, space, and emotion

a reminder that everything, and everyone, is in motion
